This page helps you to see how much profit or loss you are making from each of your tasks. By default it brings up all of your tasks ordered by customer ID. You can use the filters at the top of the page to narrow down the tasks shown on the page. Just click the ‘Apply filters’ button to apply your currently selected filters.
Each task is given its own table and all visits for the last three seasons are loaded as default, the number of seasons to include can be changed at the top of the page.
Only visits which have their start and finish times filled in and whose man-hours are not zero are included on this page. These times are required in order to calculate the time cost of each visit.
Fixed price visits
For fixed price visits where the start and finish times have been entered, Groundleader can calculate how much the visit would have cost had it been carried out at the appropriate hourly rate. Groundleader compares this value with the fixed price you have set for the task. If the fixed price is higher than what it would have cost hourly then this is considered a profit, if less then it will be a loss. The ‘time vs price’ column at the end of each visit shows this profit or loss value.
At the bottom of the table the total and average ‘time vs price’ value is shown for each task, this will show, over a given period of time, how much you are making or losing from each task by doing it at a fixed price rather than hourly. Also shown for each task is the average man-hours per visit. The average cost of the visit at an hourly rate is also shown, this value is calculated at the current rate and travel cost for the task to show the true average cost at todays prices.
A tasks profit analysis information can also be shown on the quotes page. This can be useful to check that you are charging an appropriate fixed price for each task and will allow you to accurately re-quote for it.
Hourly rate visits
Hourly rate visits are highlighted in a different colour than fixed price visits. As there is no fixed price to compare with we can’t get a ‘time vs price’ value for these visits.
Where this can be useful for hourly rate tasks is seeing the average price per visit, this will help you choose an appropriate cost if you ever need to change the task over to a fixed price.
